I am a writer, researcher, phd student, gardener and cook.
I work at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol with academics and local teachers to think about the role of digital technologies in education.
I am also studying for a phd on how teachers construct their ideas of what digital technology is and what it can do in their classrooms – in other words, what role does technology play in teachers’ stories of education? I am interested in how their stories about education connect to social, cultural and political discourses about the purposes of education, the role of technology in society, etc. But ask me again next week and I may have changed my mind about all of this.
I used to work for Futurelab, with the most talented people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet, researching, writing and making stuff to help ourselves and others think about the future of education in a digital world.
I live in a small house in south Bristol with two neurotic cats and a historian.
